1. Who We Are

powerengcalc.com is operated by PEFG, a professional engineering firm. The site provides free online electrical engineering calculators for preliminary estimation purposes.

2. Information We Collect

We collect two categories of information:

A. Information you provide voluntarily

• Email address and first name — if you choose to subscribe to our free email list for new-calculator and code-update notifications. Subscribing is entirely optional and never required to use any calculator. All calculators, results, and full step-by-step derivations are free and unlocked for every visitor, with no signup or payment required.
• Payment information — if you purchase PDF report downloads (one-time, monthly, or annual) or leave an optional tip, your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects your name, email address, and card details directly; we never see or store your full card number. We receive limited purchase information from Stripe (email address, purchase type, and a payment confirmation) to grant PDF access. See Section 4a below.

B. Information collected automatically

• Log data — your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and time/date of visit. Collected by our hosting provider automatically.
• Cookies and similar technologies — placed by Google AdSense and Google Analytics (if enabled) for advertising personalization and analytics, and by Stripe for payment processing and fraud prevention. See Section 4, Section 4a, and Section 6.
• Calculator inputs — values you enter into the calculators (voltage, fault current, conductor sizes, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, store, or log any calculator input values on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Deliver the free email newsletter and engineering updates you subscribed to
• Notify you of new calculators, IEEE 1584 developments, and NEC code updates
• Occasionally share information about PEFG consulting services, online courses, and professional tools relevant to electrical engineers
• Serve relevant advertisements through Google AdSense (using cookies; see Section 4)
• Analyze site traffic and improve the calculators and content (aggregate, anonymized data only)
• Comply with applicable law

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or significant effects on you.

4. Google AdSense & Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to powerengcalc.com and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting:

4a. Payments & Stripe

All calculators, results, and step-by-step derivations are free. Payment is only involved if you choose to purchase a PDF report download or leave an optional tip ("Buy Me a Coffee"). Three PDF options are offered: a one-time purchase (a single PDF download), a monthly subscription (unlimited downloads while active), and an annual subscription (unlimited downloads while active).

Payments are processed entirely by Stripe, Inc., a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. When you purchase or leave a tip, you are directed to a Stripe-hosted checkout page. Stripe collects your name, email address, and full card details directly — this information never passes through or is stored on our servers. We receive back only a payment confirmation and, for subscriptions, your email address for receipt and billing purposes.

PDF access is recorded in your browser's localStorage (which download credits or unlimited access you currently hold), not in a database we control. Stripe's own cookies and fraud- prevention technology are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

5. Email List & ConvertKit

When you submit your name and email address to unlock the Cable Tray calculator, your information is transmitted to and stored by ConvertKit, LLC, our email marketing provider. ConvertKit processes this data on our behalf under their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

By submitting your email you agree to receive:

• Confirmation of calculator access
• The PEFG / powerengcalc.com engineering newsletter (new calculators, IEEE 1584 updates, NEC 2023 tips)
• Occasional information about PEFG consulting services and professional courses

Unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email. We honor all unsubscribe requests promptly. Unsubscribing from email does not affect your access to the calculators — access is retained via your browser's local storage.

Email frequency: typically 2–4 emails per month. We do not spam.

6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use the following types of cookies:

• Essential / functional cookies — used to remember that you have unlocked the gated calculator (stored in your browser's localStorage, never transmitted to our servers).
• Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) — placed by Google to serve and measure advertisements. These are third-party cookies; we do not control them directly. See Section 4 for opt-out options.
• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — if enabled, used to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. IP addresses are anonymized. You may opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• Payment cookies (Stripe) — set on Stripe's own checkout pages for payment processing and fraud prevention when you purchase a PDF report or leave a tip. See Section 4a.

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings menus. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of advertising on the site but will not affect the engineering calculators.

7. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers — ConvertKit (email delivery), Stripe (payment processing for PDF purchases and tips), Google (advertising and analytics), and our web hosting provider. Each processes data only as directed by us and under contractual data protection obligations.
• Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
• Business transfer — if PEFG or powerengcalc.com is acquired, merged, or its assets transferred, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

8. Data Retention

We retain your email address and name in ConvertKit for as long as you remain subscribed. Upon unsubscription, ConvertKit marks your record as unsubscribed and suppresses future sends; you may request complete deletion at any time (see Section 9).

Server log data (IP addresses, page visits) is retained for up to 90 days by our hosting provider for security and diagnostic purposes, then deleted automatically.

Calculator gate unlock status is stored only in your browser's localStorage on your own device. Clearing your browser data removes it.

9. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction — request that we correct inaccurate information
• Deletion — request that we delete your personal information
• Opt-out of email — unsubscribe via any email we send, or contact us directly
• Opt-out of advertising — see Section 4 for Google AdSense opt-out options
• Data portability — request your data in a portable format

We honor the rights listed above for all users regardless of location.

California residents: Under the CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to know, delete, and opt-out of sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, contact us at info@pefgconsulting.com.

EU/UK residents: If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability. Our lawful basis for processing your email address is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing. 10. Children's Privacy

powerengcalc.com is intended for professional electrical engineers, engineering students, and technical professionals. The site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@pefgconsulting.com and we will promptly delete it.

11. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted to and from this site, and contractual security obligations with our service providers (ConvertKit, Google).

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take your data protection seriously and continuously review our security practices.

Importantly: all engineering calculations are performed locally in your browser. No calculation inputs (fault currents, voltages, conductor sizes, system data) are transmitted to our servers or stored in any database. Your engineering data stays on your device.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, if the changes are significant, send a notification to subscribers via email.

Your continued use of powerengcalc.com after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated privacy policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
